Rear o2 sensor for front?

Ok --

So I just 1/2 re-did my exhaust setup, and I accidently dropped and smashed the end of my front o2 sensor. I put it back in the car and its running, throwing a code for both front and rear sensors (I know the rear one is bad... I cut the wires to get it off ).

My question is, can I use a rear o2 sensor in the place of the front one?

I have an old rear o2 sensor lieing around from my 'fire that im not using. I extended the wires on the sensor side of the plug the first time (mistake I know) when I got my header. The rear o2 wires are long enough to use for the front on the header I have.

Im curious if I run a "rear" sensor in the place of the front one will it work or will there be problems? Im sure it will work, but I dont want to plug it in before I know for sure. Thanks!

**Theyre both 4-wire sensors**

Both of them have the same threads, they look the same.

Just a thought. I will be redoing the front o2 plug the correct way this time, and just get a new sensor.

Thanks Shifted.
