I have a 99 sunfire gt, have to get that out of the way. OK, I was driving around with my buddie last night, after the install of the new konis and we noticed that the car was starting to tap. I was like, humm, its never done that. It sounds like a lound injector tap, but it gets worse as the RPM go up. So I get to his house to drop him off and notice that the motor has very little oil. So we walk to the gas station at 4am and get 2 qt of oil. I put it in and it still clatters. So today I put another quart and let my father listen to the car. He said that becasue I added more oil, even thicker 0W40, that its not in the bottom end of the motor. So my question to you guys is, what would clatter just like an injector, but louder. Oh, the car has 170k, I think on the stock chain as well. On more thing. The oil pressure never droped below 25 psi. I have thick ass oil in the car, so it usually stays around 25 at idle. The clatter is very noticeable after the car is warm and/ or >3k RPM.
