One day while trying to plug in all 20 of my neon lights (kidding of course) i noticed that my Cigaretter lighter was not working, I checked the fuse first and i noticed that it was blown so i replaced it with another one. Well after the new fuse was put in i noticed my car would behave oddly (as in no power) and eventually the battery died so i replaced the battery and when i did i noticed that the cigarette fuse was blown again. I am a little concerned as to put in another replacement if the same thing happens again but if i do and it does die on me what do you guys/gals think what is going on? I am thinking it may be some crossed wires or a short somewhere, any suggestions?
@!#$ my bad, i forgot to mention i have a 2001, 2200, Manual with 77k on it
Why would you plug all those into the cigarette lighter hole? def exceeds the power alotted for the cigarette lighter.
as for your battery dying, you probably have it hooked up while it is off. the cigarette lighter stays active even with the car off.
I'm back from the dead.
Currently Driving: RSX Type-S.
My Cavalier Burnt up :-(
There could be a short in the cig-lighter circuit. That would explain the blown fuses, and if the fuse carried the load long enough before blowing, it could kill the battery and cause electrical oddities.

The connector on the CIG socket itself can short out. I know because it did as I was removing my dashboard.

duh, that is why i was joking about the neons. I was trying to charge my cell phone if you must know. I dont leave my cell phone in my car over night either to charge i bring it in. so please feed me more information from your vast intellect in making assumptions of what i was doing. nothing except the actual lighter is plugged into it when not in use.
Thanks Geeky for your feedback i was thinking it was either a short or crossed wires and that would explain the battery dying.
Impreza WRX that is possible too, i did notice that the dash was previously removed probably by the previous owner because of a few missing dash screws and that the cover was a little loose when i first got it.
