Hey guys. Need some help from you 2.4 gearheads. I have a 97 Z. I just rebiult my engine, fordged assembly, heads P+P, all the works. I have everything set and plugged. I turned the key to start the engine and It sounded like it was having trouble turning over and then a click/spark of some sort popped and then a cloud of grey smoke puffed out the intake. I've been told It's an ignition problem. I would think timing but not 100% sure on anything, looking for advice. Please help asap! thanks!
Sounds like your cam timing is off.
Check it again.
Did you have the head and block resurfaced? If so your timing will always be a few degrees retarded from stock.
