funny sounds driving down the road

alright i got a 04 5 speed, brand new tires new brakes (rotors and pads) and the car sings a song driving down the road. it almost sounds like i have mud tires underneath. i changed the passenger side wheel bearing and still sounds horrible. car has 82000 miles. tommorow i am going to change the driver side wheel bearing. if that doesnt fix it what could it be?! the car sat for some time on a car lot in MI. winter. so maybe something got rusty or something.

did you stop to think that maybe it is the tires? some tread patterns have lots of road noise. try driving on a bunch of different road surfaces, if the noise is still present then im clueless.

horsepower is the force that determines at what speed you hit the wall, torque is the force that determines how far you take the wall with you after you hit it.

I too must know what kind of tires you have. Are you running snow/ice tires or mud luggers on a Cavalier?

Did you make sure the tires have the recommended PSI?

while we're on the subject of tire issues, directional tires rotating in the wrong direction can also make some noise. Even shops can make this mistake.

well i figured it out. i installed a new wheel bearing on the pass. side. and it still made the noise. so after closer inspection i noticed that the old one i took off of the front pass side. was the same aftermarket brand i just bought. so the previous owner already replaced that one. so i took that one and put it on the driver side. after further inspection of the old one coming off of the driver side it was orignal GM the seals were all rotted and i could hear the bearings inside just turning it with my hand. so i put the old one from the pass side back on it. and everything is A O K thanks for the help anyways!
