well.... i just finished *hopefully* rebuilding my engine and ive gotten snagged up with another problem last second. im leaking coolant from this hole...
sorry it was getting late when i took the picture and all i have is my camera phone.

(picture was taken from a spare engine so i know both water pumps have the hole.)
anyone know what the remedy would be for this???
thanks in advance

If its a hole on the pump, called the weep hole. Then the pump is toast and needs to be replaced. Im just assumeing this, cuz i doubt thats the right pic you posted.
oh hahah mybad
i asked my neghibor about it and he said that there is a very small chance but it might seal back up when there is pressure on it. so i should try to run it for a minute before i go taking everything apart again.
sound like its worth a shot as its like a billion hour job for me

that is the weep hole. lets you know if your water pump is going bad or not. if it coolant will come out of there first before going into the bearings where it shouldnt be. its a slow leak usually so id say check it every oil change or more.
well its not that slow of a leak about 2 drips for 3 seconds
anyone think there is a chance of it sealing back up?

that hole is there regardless if you buy a new one or not. its like having a blow off valve on an air compressor, it pops the valve so the tank doesnt explode. it leaks out of that hole to let you know your water pump is going bad. you need a new water pump.
Sealing that hole will not prevent your pump from failing. Like Vince said its just a warning that your pump is gonna fail soon or has already failed. The only way to fix it is to replace it.
