OK I've read the last 8 pages in here and can't seem to find my exact problem, I believe the multi-function switch took a crap, but I wanted to ask you guys before I tear into it. The .org has saved me numerous times so please helpme out!!!.
Ok Here's the problem, I have a 98 Cavy. Now that it's cold out, my headlights turn on fine, and drl's work, but when i turn highs on, they don't come on and it kicks on the drl's. Once the cars warmed up, the highs work fine. Also I know it's probably not related, but my dome light stays on when I close the door. My last question is where is the multi-function switch located? Thanks for any and all help!!
144db@38hz! It hurts so good !
The dome light remains on, but should shut off automaticaly after 10 seconds or so. If it remains on, the issue should be a small sensor type button between the front door jams. By this I mean were the hindges are, or where the electrical wire connects from the left front fender to the door. Look for that little button, this button becomes pushed down every time you close the door, which in turn shuts of the dome light. Sometimes grind and dirt can get into the button and create slugish responses. Try lubeing it with w-40.
As for the High beams, could be some electrical ground that is loose, so when you car heats up so does the connections, which casues contact. Look for bad fuse connections, or ground connections. Check the light harnesses.
