Yes, I've searched this topic already. No, it didn't help.

I have 12V at the connectors to the defroster grid when the switch is pressed. The little light turns on above the switch. When I press the switch to turn it off, there is no power to the back window. There is low resistance in the grid when I check it with my ohmmeter. The problem is that everything seems like it should work, but it doesn't melt snow, or even clear the rear screen when it gets fogged up.

Any ideas?

did u use to have tint or stickers on the rear if so id check for broken or missing strips if it damaged not complete circuit. even if now tint id still check.

Do you have 12 volts at BOTH connectors, with it turned on?

One side should be earthed to the chassis, so you should have zero there, with power On or OFF
