Hello to all, at this time i having the weirest problem. I have got a tune up recently plugs, wires, fuel fiter, coil pack, ect .... however i do have a misfire coming from cylinder 3, but just last week, my car was starting up just fine. but please note, whenever i turned the car off. I noticed a strong gas smell coming from the exhaust. and now the car doesn't start at all. mechanic told me it was my fuel pump. Is this true? or maybe could it be my fuel pump relay within the fuse box in engine? Please help. i'll really frustrated!! thanks guys
The strong smell of gas indicates that you are getting fuel. So i highly doubt its your pump. The first thing to do is to check your spark. Remove plug and wire and ground it, to see if it sparks. To check your fuel pump just turn the key to "run" and listen for a wine coming from the rear of the car, if you hear it then the pump is working. How was the drivablity of the car when it ran? If it was sluggest and/or jerky i would suspect a cracked plug.
