When pulling a ld9....

is it possible to leave the 5 speed transmission in place and just pull the engine out? This is for a 99 Z24 if that makes any difference.

I have read conflicting information saying if you leave the transmission in you will ruin the splines on the shaft, but others say it is perfectly okay. So I am just looking for a second opinion.

Thanks
Jeremy

ya ive had my motor out twice, left the tranny in both times. all ya gotta do is lift 1 side of the motor up as far as it will go, then put a block under the trans and unbolt everything. Its a tight fit but it shouldnt be a problem.

did you have to remove the crank pulley? Also where do you normally put your jack stands? I am used to the 2nd gen frames.
