yep, snapped my motor mount bolt so now im in a little bit of a jam.

1) is there an easy way to remove the stuck bolt or would i just be better off going to gmpartsdirect.com its only 53 bucks on there
2) also does anyone have a link to the bolts? or the specs for them so i make sure i get the right thing?
3) i read they were 60mm and have to be "grade 8"? Is there anything else i need to know?

4) does anyone know what that second motor mount is from i was given a blown motor and that one was on it. the holes for the bolts arent even close to matching.

Since the bolt sheared off at the top just take a pair of pliers, wrap a piece of cloth, if necessary, and take that bolt out.Replace the bolt.I doubt you'll even need to re-tap the hole.

Mine sheared off just below flush and I went to the junkyard and found the bracket, cost me $10.The other thing looks like some kind of brace, but I have no idea where it goes.

I think I used 60mm or 65mm grade 12 bolts,I can't remeber though.

ok. i was talking to my neghibor and he has a bunch of ez outs that he is going to use and if that doesnt work he is going to drill and retap them.
i couldnt get it out with pliers

whats the difference in grade 8 and grade 12
im guessing it has something to do with their strengths?

Yeah,I bought an extractor but decided to just save the hassle.I do believe Grade has to do with strength but not sure.

Yea the higher grade means higher strength, but i dont recall ever hearing of a grade 12. To the best of my knowledge the highest grade SAE bolt is a grade 8.

I had a whole class on this in college. Well that and failure analysis.
