Hell..... just run it without an EGR......

Either someone modded the engine your putting in (removed the egr) or the new engine didn't come with one or isn't the same year..

All EGR does is recirculate exhaust back into the intake. It was a stopgap measure to prevent NOx emissions and is required in some countries, but due to later engine designs an EGR is not needed. Call it a blessing in disguise, and make sure there is not an open hole where the EGR should go on either side of the engine.

In some places, EGR is required even in Diesel engines. You know what happens when sooty diesel exhaust runs back through the intake? The sooty goop builds up into a super hard crust in the engine, which lowers the engine's lifespan and performance as it builds up. This crust won't come off unless you use the most aggressive bead blasting techniques.

Be glad we aren't required to have EGR on all cars in the US.
