My cavalier has the 2.3L Quad 4 engine and about a 6 months ago I had a battery problem and when I picked my car up after he finished it he told me that if I ever have any engine problems don't bring it to him because he will not work on that engine. Well, about a two months ago my car started over-heating and I had to fill it with water every day. A month after that ,on one day, my car started stalling and when I checked under the car oil/coolant was pouring out. So I had my car towed home and the driver said he knew a couple of mechanics that could help me. When we got to my house he popped the hood and seen it was a quad 4 he said his friends will not even touch my car. I was going to trade it in but no dealerships will take it because it is a quad 4. Well, I'm stuck. I needed to know some engine swap options I have while not downgrading in power. I had seen on another site that someone swapped a 2000 grand prix 3.1L engine in a 95 cavalier. Is that possible with a $1500 budget. I'm not locked on the grand prix idea and any help will VERY appreciated

Just put a HO in it and be done.

I still don't get why so many people are afraid to work on em... They are easy as hell to work on...
