Or some type of "cap" This is part of the shifting mechanism for the manual trans.
No, there is no c-clip there. There is supposed to be a plastic piece over the top of that which is part of the shifter cable. It appears to have broken off. You shouldn't see that metal piece at all.

Hmm...could this cause me to loose clutch fluid quickly and have no pedal? I'm about to replace the slave, clutch and flywheel as I've already replaced the clutch master cylinder and it didn't solve the problem.
And when I say loose fluid quickly, I mean in the matter of a day the entire reservoir is empty.
Lastly, how difficult would it be to replace that shaft seal?
Thanks!
Jason
never replaced the shift seal, and that wouldnt cause you to loose clutch fluid anyway.. but, if you're losing clutch fluid, its most likely the slave. look into getting a flywheel too, stock ones are pretty cheap, got mine for $45 brand new. while the trans is out, change the fluid and clean it up. the trans takes two quarts of syncromesh (the 95-99 trans can ONLY use syncromesh).
