I have a 94 gm with a 2.3 quad,i have a coolant leak where the hoes go into the engine on the drivers side.there is a black plastic housing that seems to be the source of the leak.
question...this is a frequent problem and is the part suppose to be plastic??
It seems kinda of flimsy.can somone tell me what this part is called???
And is there a metal piece for this or just plastic
is that on the top or bottom of the radiator?
howmany miles do you have on the engine?
its not on the rad. its on the engine..but it connects to the bottom of the raditor where the hoes connect to the engine..there are three hoes that connect to it..one that connects to the rad.,one to goes to the heater, and one that goes to the coolant..
there is about 126,500 miles on it
It is called water neck or water outlet and the source of the leack could be worn or broken o rings that go inside the piece or the piece itself to be on the safe side better change all parts.
I would pop that piece out, I think its only 2 bolts..
Check the large rubber o-ring on it to make sure its not damaged or missing. If everything looks good, I would put some kinda sealent around it & bolt it back up & keep an eye on it..
