Hi all, newbie here. Young street rodder at heart. Anyway, my son just puked his 2.4L in his car and I happen to have a complete GTZ Quad4. His is an auto and the GTZ is a 5-speed. I would like to put this motor in his car, but I don't know if will mate his automatic and what other issues I will encounter. Any help would be appreciate it. He's short of money so his car sits for a while. If this fits then it's a freebie. Thank you in advance.

the engine will BOLT to the tranny...if he had an auto that swap would be ALOT easier for now you have to deal with a car that has a cam sensor and a quad engine that does not...and im not sure about running it ..it MAY run off the obd2 pcm but im doubting it..the easiest way to make that engine run in that car is to pick up a 1995 ONLY Z or GT auto pcm and harness from a yard and use that ..it will run pretty smooth off that.....there are other ways to run it but im not familiar

Thanks Scott - It doesn't sound like it's a plug-n-play so I won't mess with it. I have the pcm that came with the Q4 but it's for a stick. So the next question would be, what's the next p-n-p engine I could swap other than the identical engine? Remember I'm not looking for mods or upgrades, just something to get him his wheels back. only other plugnplay engine is gonna be the same engine...the quad you have will mount up in the bay and bolt the tranny all the same...its the electronics that need changed..and thats MAINLY cus you have a manual and his is an automatic..so hes gonna have to have the same engine for the easiest fix
