Hey guys I just finished my eco swap on my 97 and went out to drive it and the speedometer doesnt work, I made sure the vss was hooked up and it still doesnt work, now Im using a automatic wiring harness with the manual, is there something else on an auto that has to be hooked up to make it work? maybe the cluster is bad?, Any help with this would be great, Thanks, Josh
You should see if the vss sensor is bad. I think i have heard of those going out after a while. My gfs sunfire had a gauge problem last week, the rpm needle went all the way around! It has fixed its self, but it was strange. Its like it would go up, but wouldnt go back down, and eventually pinned the speedo needle down, so she couldnt see how fast she was going, then after driving it for a while it went back to normal It could be a faulty cluster, or the vss sensor.
Edit: After typing this, I noticed a new ad at the bottom of the site for digital speedo repair... coincidence?
