sensor problem?

o heres the problem..................when ideling the rev's keep going up and down and then after a while the car shuts off......i left the car runin for like 3 min and the rev's went from normal(650ish) to up and down between 500 and 1500 rpms.....then shut off and the battery and oil lights came on...oh and the lights were dimming when the rpms were dropping.......air intake sensor maby?....suggestions please!!

Voting more for Throttle Position Sensor.....just a wild guess without anything what so ever to back that up.

Remove the IAC or idle air control valve and clean it up, some throtle body cleaner will do, and check the MAP sensor vacuum line also.

nope i went to the shop today......they told me that its the throttle body it's self...i need a new one......and i opened the hood today to have a listen to it and you can kinda hear it whining kinda like it's sucking air through a pinhole......soo yea he said it's gonna cost $120.00 for a used one.....anyone know where i can get a cheaper one or where i can get a aftermarket one for somewhere around the same price?
