Cold Air Intake For Christmas

hey guys if i get an cold air intake for christmas and install it will it be a good idea to run cold air intake during the winter or does it matter at all

Your profile doesn't list where you are, but if you have lots of snow or rain it might not be worth it to run it for the winter. I don't know what intake you are getting but some cold air intakes are more like short rams with an extension and you can run it higher up by removing the extension until the bad weather passes and then go back down into the fenderwell. If you're getting a fairly expensive piece for xmas i can't see any reason to pass it up. Preemptive Merry Christmas for you opening up that box if you get it!

I live up here in canada and there always a few months of winter but im not sure which one im getting ill have to price around but the winter cold air should not matter because the stock one already sucks in the cold air but im not sure

I live in MN and run my cold air intake all year round snow and rain dont do anything but mines not way down in the fender well

well im finally came to conclusion that im going to get the weapon r intake or dragon intake whatever u call it so u guys think thats a decent air intake system and will make my car sound better

usually people buy the parts for the performance gain not sound. if you get a short ram you'll be ok. the full cai that run into the wheel wells may cause a problem because sucking in water isnt good.

AEM makes a sort of diverter valve that can be retrofitted into just about any CAI system, if the filter sucks water, the diverter valve opens up and lets the engine breathe normally till the water goes back out of the filter. Problem with it is its unfiltered air, and you likely won't know it just saved your engine, so you won't know that you need to take your filter off and clean/reoil it (if its a filter that needs oil that is).
