My ex girlfreind and I got into an arguement yesterday. So she got really upset and started to bang things up with her foot. She managed to kick my mirror off and most importantly, damaged by ignition lock. Now, whenever I put my key in to try and start the car, it goes in but it wont budge once its in there. The tumblers in the cylinder must have gotten worn out or bent.
I know the instructions say that I need to be able to put the key into the ON position to remove it, but how can I do that when the key wont budge? Is there another way to get the ignition lock cylinder out? I heared of one guy who drilled inside the keyhole, stuck a screw driver in and turned it to the on position. Can anyone give me some insight on how i can fix this?
have you tryed turning the steering wheel? I know its a dumb question but that happend to me on my old car and then I turned the steering wheel it loosened it up and the key turned
Ignition lock replacement
Since you can't turn the key, you would probably need to refer to the first part detailing replacement without the key.
well go to a junk yard and get a new steering column that has a key and if u live anywhere near oshkosh i have one sitting in my garage that i have removed the key cylinder already
