Well, here is what is going on now,I left my bottle heater on a few times and it killed my batt.(needs replaced).
I had to jump the car and ever since then the fan turns on at startup. From what I've read, this is a sign that the car is in limp mode.I have disconnected the pos. cable once for about 10-15 min. and that didn't help.I do have the CEL from the EGR being deleted and blocked off but it's not the cause of this because it never did this in the summertime.Any ideas or suggestions?

Try resetting the comp. in 5 mints., switch in on with engine off, now disconnect negative from battery and wait 5 mints. then switch to off and connect the bat. neg. all in that order that should do it.
tried that and now the fan doesn't come on upon startup but now the batt. light is on?WTF?

I'm really not sure limp mode exists, but the fan coming on at times it should not is usually a sign of a problem, and a future CEL. Do you have a way of checking the codes?

That's the thing though, the fan is turning on upon startup on a cold motor.Too my knowledge it should not be doing that right?I can got to Autozone and have the car scanned but I currently have a CEL from the EGR being deleted,so will their scanner read any other codes if there are any?

How long does the fan run for? It is normal for the fan to come on for about 2 seconds when you first start the car. Yes Autozone can read any codes (more than one).

fan runs all the time but I'll go tomorrow and have it scanned

Batt light is usually a sign of alt. not charging or bad or rusty connections, I would check the batt terminals alt. terminal and connector and the grounds. Have the guys at autozone check the alt also.
Batt and alt are fine, batt. light was on due to a wire coming disconected

please tell me what wire was disconnected. so i read it made your fan come on right away. was your car running funny? like this limp mode you were talking about.

Alt. wire,I replaced it awhile ago and just spliced the wires. The wire itself had nothing to do with the car running oddly. The computer is now reset and it has never ran better.

reset as in unhooking the battery for a little while or a computer reflash?

unhooking the neg. batt. cable
