My brembo pads are getting down after only 15K miles(guess i chose wrong). So I Need to replace them soon. What is a popular pad for the Ecotec powered J's?

Hawk HPS, Virtually dustless, ran them ever since i upgraded rotors and will never go back to anything else i tried before. i loved mine. especially paired with hawk powerslot rotors.

check out (CLICK ME) and he can give you some good prices. i think he even has all of his rotors on sale right now.

Cool, I'll order some after I check out and verify that it is in fact the brakes that are making the noise.

^^^ as long as youre breaking heavy all the time stockers are fine. Im hard on my breaks and ive tried about 1/2 dozen different pads...finally staying with the Hawks. no brake fade or stress cracks

ya i usually down shift with very light breaking to slow down. im never hard on the brakes which is probably why they've lasted so long and still have plenty of life left on them. we are probably replacing the rotors/pads next spring cause i may also be doing a rear disk brake conversion as well, just for good measures although the brakes will still be fine by then lol.

I figure not bad for an almost 6 year old car to be on the full stock break system, pads even

i'm on hawk hps as well. i read on the forum someone's opinion on down shifting, it's cheaper to replace rotors and pads than a transmission. i used to down shift as well a lot. then took a different perspective on it. mine get dusty, not as bad as ebc green stuff though. going to switch to some slotted rotors soon.

I love My EBC Green Stuff's.

As for downshifting, if you downshift too early you can cause damage, I downshift and brake, but I rev-match down shifts and not too early.

Made to last, Duralast! lol, as cheap as they are, that's what i buy. They usually last me 30-40k. And believe it or not, they have minimal dust. But I'm running on my stock Z24 rims, so maybe the dust doesn't show up as bad compared to you guys with those fancy wheels.
