Need help with this noise in the front end...
Tuesday, December 04, 2007 5:34 AM
The car is a 97 Z24 with about 87k. The noise that I'm getting is only at very slow speeds, like when I'm backing up and turning the wheel. When I do this, the front driver's side makes a "thunk" noise. When I put the car back into drive and turn the wheel back the other way, it makes the noise again. It seems to only do this when the roads are wet or if it is cold outside. It does not do it at all when going down the road at normal speeds. Last year I had my sway bar links and bushings replaced along with the lower control arm bushings. About a month ago, I replaced the wheel bearing on this side and I checked the CV boot when I did the wheel bearing and the boot looked to be in awesome shape yet. I'm clueless to what the could be, so if anyone knows or might have an idea to what it could be, give me a hollar. Thanks.

well IM not100% sure here as i havent heard the noise. but i would be looking at a ball joint or your upper strut bushing and mount. is it making the noise while your turning the wheel... just a couple ideas to look at.
