Ok,so about a week ago i slid the car sideways against a curb while sliding around on wet roads. The right front rim hit the curb at a 45* angle, causing therim to break (pieces broke off), the control arm was bent towards back about 3", that was all the damage i saw at the time. I replaced the control arm, and threw the spare on. Car rolled now, but made a strange grinding sound, and had very uncontrolable steering. I replaced the wheel bearing, and put new rotors/pads on the front, and checked the cv shaft for damage. All looked good. Test drove car, grinding sound still there, and steering still loose. Could I have damaged the rack in the crash? doesn't look like the steering rod is bent, and all joints look ok. I'm clueless at this point, any help is appreciated.
already put a new one in, wasn't the problem. Anyone???? are there no experts on this forum?
tie rod? you may have damaged the rack itself. or maybe the input or sector shaft in the rack. does it grind only when you steer?
Silly ricer, useless wings are for penguins.
