Pumping fuel when car isn't started..
Wednesday, November 28, 2007 9:19 PM
Hey guys, I recently dropped another 2.4 into my 98 Z, and today I was finally finished and putting the battery back in, I hooked up the + side and when I was hooking of the neg. side I could here a little hissing sound and smelt gasoline, also my door ajar chime was going off with the doors closed. To me my seems to have a constant power source of some sort, anyone have any ideas what might be the deal, I don't think i crossed anything, it's pretty simple i put everything back where it went. Let me know if you guys have any ideas, i need my Z back on the road.

My door chimes go off with my doors closed when i reconnect the battery.(03' Cavy) So i'll say its normal. But the other sounds like the fuel pump is priming the system. If it was me i wouldnt be too worried about it as long as the fuel pump shut off. My 2 cents
