Ok, well I bought the car about 4 years ago everythings good yadda yadda well about a year ago it got this noise kinda like a bearing that was worn out grinding, well I turned my defroster on and by chance it stopped well now its back and nothing stops it sometimes after accelerating real quick it goes away for a moment but then comes back, I know its from the passenger side of the engine compartment and was wondering what you all thought it might be? it doesn't have any problems running or anything during the summer from time to time it would start to over heat (about 3/4 of the way maybe more) but I dont see how turning the defroster on would have stopped the noise previously.... any suggestions would be great, and anybody know how hard it is to change the water pump?
Possibly your alternator. Turning the rear defrost on would put a strain on it, and could of quieted it down a little.

suspect the A/C bearing... its comon on the 2.4 LD9... though your profile doesnt even say what kind of car you have.
could be a number of different bearing as every bearing is on the passanger side of the engine bay.

How is the oil pressure? Any sign of the oil light once hot and idling? We need to know which engine you have.
I could be the clutch in the a/c compressor......happened to my brothers 94 2.2. Ended up getting a belt that was ment for a 2.2 w/o A/C....sad part was that car had the coldest a/c i've ever driven.
