T-boned

So I was t-boned today, but she smucked me right on my wheel, so there isn't really any visable damage from what I can tell, other then a broken hubcap, but I won't be able to tell for sure until I wash it. I did get pushed sideways a foot or 2.

But, driving home, doing about 40mph, I noticed a low intermittent hum a couple times a second. So when I got home, I pulled the wheel off and it wasn't freely spinning as nicely as I would exect, if I spin it, it was stopped in a couple seconds pretty abruptly. So I wanted to compare the other side, and it was even worse, even snagging to the point I had to forcefully break it lose, even worse when spinning it backwards. Any idea what it could be? I'll most likely take it to a mechanic, since she said she'd pay for any repairs, but any ideas what may have happened?

I'd start checking everything hooked up to the drivetrain (mount brackets, CV axles, bearings, etc.), even have the trans inspected as well.

was the sound coming from the front or the back?

It sounded like the back for sure.

if it was the back, the rear hubs probably need replacing. Also have the torsion beam checked for square.

Fiven that there isn't much external evidence of damage, best to strip everything down (whether it was the front or rear) and check each piece. Better to be safe than have something else fail later.
