96' 2.4 cavy 5 speed :

When I go to start my car sometimes it will sound like its cranking but the engines not turning if that make sense? It will make a vrooom sound and sometimes catch then stall or start. If I try to start it and give it gas (air) it will sometimes start. This is very random. It seems to start the best when its cold. Mabey fuel pump, coils, or something else? Anyone had this happen before? Thanks.

oh yea... if I mash the gas from stop it runs smooth... but at around 3500 till redline it will bog every second or two.

ok I chaged the coils and the driving is ok but I still have that starting issue... anyone?

Starter on its way out maybe.... I would check that problem because if the small gear from the starter is not engaging properly it may damage the big gear of the engine = more expensive.

Well saturday my alternator went out so I ran the battery dead and jumped it twice to get it to the nearest gas station. I left the car overnight, then first thing in the morning i went to the junkyard to get my an alternator since im broke. Anyways I put it in at the gas station and got jumpd but the battery was so low it wouldnt crank enough to start the car since I have this *starting probleem* and I need a few trys. Anyways I had discount test it and it turns out I need a new one. Well I got a new battery, new to me alternator, new coils, new to me ignition switch and I still have this problem... I only thing left is th starter. Man I have bad luck?
