car revs by itself

ok, so sometimes my car doesnt turn on until i hit my starter a couple of times with a piece of metal (its an auto). i know i have to get a new starter...but my car is currently doing this;
it randomly revs itself up. i see it on the rpm gauge on the cluster as well as my vacuum gauge on my pod. this has caused the rpms to drop to low and the car to stahl.

Also my a/c just dies on me and i sorta hear like a sharp ping noise when this happens, i then accelerate and the a/c kicks back. i have complete custom exhaust from the headers to the muffler (which im switching back to oem and then geting an after market catback exhaust).

could this be oxygen sensors? spark plugs? spark plug wires? iat sensor?

sounds like your bad starter killed your alternator.

yea bro, start at getting a new starter, then take the car and get the alternator checked

now you need to explain a little better what is going on, a video would really be more helpful

is it doing it in neutral, drive? when are the lights coming on, driving, as it tries to stall??
