So as is probably known to a few people, my car is currently running stock struts on cut springs. Both are @!#$, and I know it's not good, but I can't afford a replacement setup at the moment, so I'm trying to drive as easy as possible. I'm currently a delivery driver, and the roads around here suck major ass. Sometimes I completely bottom out/scrape on the road because my car is so low. Other times I won't see a hole and slam into it so hard I feel like my engine is going to drop out. What I'm wondering is how bad is this on my whole car in general. I know it can't be good for it, but are there any specific things or problems I should be watching for with my car going through this hell? Thanks
Well look into strut mounts, ball joints tie rod ends control arms. It effects alot, even look at your tires cause 9/10 times you slam it really hard it's taking your car out of allignment and then trashing your tires.

Alright, thanks a lot. Anything else that it could even *possibly* be affecting? I also think I have a small hole in my exhaust due to scraping so much
it'll be funny if you spend more fixing the @!#$ you broke than you would have on the right struts, and it is possible.

I bought the car that way. I'm not even close to stupid enough to @!#$ up my own car intentionally. Back when I bought it, I had no idea what the issue was until about a month or two later. I know that my suspension is @!#$ up, but it's not my fault and I'm trying to fix it as soon as I can.
Hey ron as much as I really hate to say it. If you want to stay lowered and save yourself a lil bit of hassle look into a set of eibach prokit springs. They will raise you from what your sitting at now and make your ride a lil bit less violent and save some of your suspension from being messed up even more. Also if you dont have alot to spend look into Tokico HP struts. For under $500 you would be set to go and be a lot safer in the end.

Given the situation, I'd seriously consider hunting down a set of stock springs, and probably struts at the same time. They should be easy to find, dirt cheap, and would cut your losses due to road damage until you can afford to do something else. As a delivery driver you're likely driving that car enthusiastically, and going stock for a while wouldn't be such a bad thing.

Yeah, I think I'm going to look for a junkyard set of stockers for a while. I'm planning on getting a beater though, and if I can find one cheap enough, I'll just let the cavi sit while I drive the beater until I can afford the set of Konis/Sportlines I've been looking at. And Geeky, I drive my car more enthusiastically when I'm not delivering, because I know which streets I can take without getting hit by a hole the size of Jesus

. If anybodies in the North East and has a high mileage/old cavi/sunfire for sale cheap, let me know

. Thanks for the input guys, hopefully I can find a cheapo car fast enough to minimize damage to my baby
i'm not gonna take shots at ya, just stating a point, if you were closer i would give you my extra stock springs
Yeah I know, but everybody thinks that I did it, and it's actually embarrassing. I'm not that stupid, and I wish I would have known better when I bought the car.
