So i have this odd problem. i got a CEL in the dash that came on. car runs fine. coolant fan was on constantly. i get to checker and find there code scanner got stolen. no problem. ill go down the street. i get in my car and pull out of the parking lot and code goes away. so i keep on driving and i get to the next light and it idled a little funny. so i take off from the light kinda hard and it still runs fine and i get to the next light and it idles fine. now the car runs fine. about a month ago tho when i was home for downweek ( i attend Wyotech) i noticed a funny noise comeing from my exhaust that im almost CERTAIN was my catalytic converter. but i get back from break (700 Miles) and the noise is gone. is it possible that my cat is @!#$ and i need a new one???

Try hooking a scanner to it when you have access to one and see if the code that made the CEL come on is still their or not.. It might give you a good starting point.

Also..... sometimes cars spaz out every once in a while and never have a problem again.... mines done it...... maybee you'll get lucky.

thats what i was discussing with my freinds tonite. i know that cars sometimes just glitch when things are just not right. so i figure thats what it was. but i know with the nicer code scanners you can pull the last code the car threw so i will see what i can do to figure it out. thanks alot man.

if the CEL came on...it doesnt go away. its stored in the memory. get a scanner and check the codes
