I had a new fuel filter put on and after that the gas pedal would stick. I took it to a mechanic, claimed it was because of a dirty throttle body. He sprayed Gum Shot into the throttle body, adjusted the screw on the throttle which he said was the idle after screwing with the transmission pan.
The car will rev itself, jumping from 1rpm to 1.5 rpm, it used to cruise 10mph on its on, i turned the cruise control screw down so it wouldn't do that but the rpm will still jump. It cuts off when I don't give it gas. The cruise control doesn't work anymore. Could something he have done to the throttle body caused a vaccum leak?
I know i have an exhaust leak in the flex pipe. Would the whole catalytic converter need to be changed to fix the flex pipe?
i was under the impression that you are not to touch the idle screw...

RIP DAD<3 We love & miss you so much!
actually, our cars dont have idle screws, our idle is computer controlled. your mechanic doesnt know what he's looking at.

There is a screw but no matter what you do to it, the computer will compensate and put the idle where it is programed to be...
take it to a different mechanic
on top of the idle screw (if exists) being messed with, iac probably blocked from debris from him cleaning it out, if problem not fixed, pull iac and clean that out (or have someone do it for you)
