My service engine light has come on after i have done the tune up now it wont go off any idea , The car is a 1987 pontiac sunbird
run it to an auto parts store and get it scanned most are free they should be able to tell u what it is but be sure to post the code so some one can verify cuz the auto store ppl some times just guess
actually, you can check it ourself with an 87.
jumper terminals a and b, and write down the numeric codes that get flashed.

where would the codes show up? and what do you do just put a wire in terminal a and connect it to terminal b?

the service engine soon light flashes. you count the flashes, in between flashes there will be pauses, all of the codes are two digit codes, each code is repeated three times before the next two digit code.
yes, you just use a small wire (actually, a paperclip works REALLY well) and just connect a and b.

i just learned that trick and before i learned no auto parts store does pre 96 anymore oh well thanks for the help
