HEATER CORE HOSE.

So I've been looking all over for a heater core hose for my car. It's a 97 Sunfire GT, 2.4. Does anyone know where can I get one of these? Besides a junkyard. The only place that has them brand new are the dealerships.

Well, if you've checked all the local auto parts stores and they don't have them, I'd say junkyard or dealership is your best bet. Have you tried throwing up a post in your regional forum to see if any local guys have a spare laying around? And depending on what's wrong with your current one, you can always patch it if need be.

so none of the parts stores can special order it?

done waste your time on a used hose. that isnt something you want to take the time again to do. just order it from the dealer...even though you will be raped.

Parts at dealers are not always more money. Two recent examples: Napa wanted about $80 for a Focus valve cover gasket and the Ford dealer asked $54. The heater resistor for a Cavalier was $45 at Napa and $34 at the Chevrolet dealer.
Many years ago I needed a upper radiator hose for my Trans Am. After trying a hose from two different part stores, I had to buy from the dealer. Both after market hoses did not fit.

The GMpartsdirect.com catalog is back up. Looks like it should be in there.

Why do you need the factory hose?

I replaced mine with I believe 7/8" or 3/4" Coolant line... Cost me a few bucks...
