Hey, my 2000 cav is making a clicking noise when I hit about 45 mph and above. It's a constant click, like if you took a baseball card and put it in bike spokes, then when I slow down to about 40 it goes away. I also have a thumping noise coming from the same area, the drivers side front wheel. It thumps if I turn left and if I just turn it to the right it goes away. Please help. The car drives straight but I really need to know what is wrong before it worsens. Thanks.

Sounds like you have a bad CV axle, I would check to see if the boots on the CV joint are on there and intact. If it isn't that I would check the bearing hub and see if it is leaking, if so replace it.
This is my 5 cents worth, (normally is would be 2 cents worth but I have adjusted it for inflation)
Car I drive:
99 Chevy Cavalier 2.2L 5 spd man (My daily car)
98 Ford Escort ZX2 4 spd auto
I am having the exact same problem and was told it was most likely the CV Joint. It was pouring rain out when I got home, so I won't be able to check it out til tomorrow.

FYI - I replaced my passenger side CV joint and the click, click, click is gone. Paid $118 tax in including core charge for a brand new replacment.
