I have a 98 sunfire with a 2.4 5-speed and I just replaced the tranny /clutch/ slave cylinder the whole nine, and now i have a whining noise coming from the engine/tranny when i get it up over 40kmh. I would appreciate it if anyone could help me out cause I have no clue .

Thanks in advance for any responses.

If it follows speed and not RPM, it's most likely your transmission. Does it have enough fluid? I know it calls for 2.5qts, but adding more will quiet it down. I've got 4qts in mine.

The flywheel bolts or the pressure plate bolts are probably loose. I was having the same problem and that was the case. Locktite is your friend!!
