i did a 97 to 95 2.2 engine and tranny swap i swaped everything in runs but the theft system kills it how do i bye pass that ???
1. Start car
2. Let die
3. Sit there and do not touch a thing, not the key not the door not even the lights.
4. Wait 10-15 mins
5. Turn key off and then start

i did that rolled the window down started it let die waited15 mins and it stills dies im gunna try again but i dont think itll work is the anything else
its the same ill try to explain it the best i can i took the 97 motor and tranny and the harness that has the fuses under the hood the computer and put it all in the 95 i also put the gauge pod and the key lock in the 95 the 97 has a plug on the key lock that the 95 dont do i have to swap all those wires under the dash of the 97 to have it pluged in to the key lock? is there any way to get rid of the theft system all together thanks for your time guys
I'm not sure, maybe you need to flash the computer at the dealer, but I'm not 100% sure
had same problem 2 years ago on sunfire, just disconnect one of the harnesses from your anti-theft modual . My sunfire was 98 and anti-theft was located on passenger side by the glow box . (open your door and listen where the beeping sound is coming from and that is the ani-theft mod. ) if i remember it correctly there are 2 harnesses connected to it disconnect one of them if the beeping goes away then it is the wrong harness plug it back in and undo the other one and try to start your car.
If this does not work there is a sensor that has to be disconnected don't remember what its is if u still need it i can look it up Sunday.
ok with that the 95 doesnt have a theft lock on it the 97 does so im lost im gunna try to take the wire for the key lock under the dash and hope i can get it workin unless some one knows something diffrent

faq for the theft system it says wait for the theft light to stop blinkin mine stops blinkin right away and stays on anyone knows???
like the previous post i startt it it dies in 2 sec i turn it over again as soon as it dies itll turn over till the light stop flashin then itll start and die in 2 secs im lost please help i change the icm from the 97 over and its the same i have a feelin i need that wire that plugs into the key lock under the dash.
well its running i had to pull the wire that runs from the key lock to the gauge cluster from the 97 and put it in the 95 and it fired up and runs but the theft light stays but it runs for now thanks for the advice guys
