Well my rims look pretty yukky! I've gotten rim cleaner and went to town, but it seems that the 04 LS Sport Rims are rusting. I wondering at this point what I can do to clean them up? Do they need to be sent into a wheel shop, and if so what needs to be done??
if it is only rust on top of the paint then you should send it down with 1000 grid sandpaper and then paint it with clear coat for rims (if you do not send it all the way to the paint)
Have they got a really good power wash?
The stuff could be stubborn, as I helped a co-worker clean her rims....seems like they want to stay dirty...
I've went to town trying to clean them.... So you say sand them with 1000 grid. How do I know if I sanded to much, and which clear coat should I get. Is the clear coat in a spray can okay?
It might not be rust. could just be a bunch of gunk building up and sticking there. My rims did that but I used a power ball mini and it worked wonders.
