Can someone please tell me how to find the Anti-theft device and how I can fix the problem to get my ride going for longer than 2 seconds??
Start the car. Let the Theft loc shut the car off. Leave the key in the on position. The theft light will be flashing. Wait 10 minutes. After the 10 minutes, the Theft light will turn on steady. Turn the ignition off. Re start the car. It should now run. After 3-4 seconds the thenft light should turn off. Then all should be normal after that.
But what if my gauges aren't in working order...they were before I put in my new stereo, and all the fuses are alright....how do I get my gauges to wokrk in order for me to see the theft lock light...?
Ummmmmmm, Ok? Dude, how the heck did you wire your stereo? Going from your other post, all this happened after installing a stereo (at least thats how I read it). Did you use a wiring harness adapter for your car, or did you just start hacking up wires? An aftermarket stereo won't make your gauge cluster go dead if you install it right. You might have to have someone actually LOOK at the car to help you with your gauge problem.
As for the theft light............ just use a clock, or a writs watch, and make sure at least 10 minutes has gone by between the time the car dies, and the time you restart it. Thats pretty much all you can do until you fix your cluster problem. Assuming thats what is causing the problem of course.
