I have a 1995 Sunfire GT. The low coolant light comes on now and again. I read the post about smacking the res tank, however I've noticed a coolant smell and wetness around the left side of the engine. The rad hose thats connected to the plastic neck that says "THERMOSTAT AT WATER PUMP" on it, has dried up fluid all over it and the neck appears to be wet where it meets the manifold. Is this a common place for these cars to be leaking? The top of the trans appears to be wet on that side as well.

If you're uncertain, I would reccomend you clean your motor thorougly. Degrease it with Simple Green, hose it off until clean and let it dry. Top off your coolant and drive your car again. If those places show NEW signs of wet coolant or if you see new puddles of coolant on the trans, there's your problem. You'll know where it's leaking from
