ok guys my motor blew on my dd, it's a 97 2.2. i got a 98 2.2 for free

w/ 40k on it w/ the tranny. ARE they 100% direct swap?
no... i believe they are different..

pay attention to where the plug wires come from on each motor, and the engine electricals & Intake runner....
ok so i swaped motors today, the 98 2200 motor is in, it's fires runs for a moment (2sec max) and quits- something is telling it to cut the fuel off. i do have fuel pressure- i have no idea what it could be. anyone please have any ideas? and yes the ecu is the correct one for that motor

That would be the engine used from 95 to 97 and it looks to have a 2200 valve cover on it.
