well I recharged my system after not having ac for almost a year. I put the stuff in, ac blows cold, but when I go and start to drive the compressor whines real bad. If I turn ac off car is perfectly fine. With the ac on it just causes a drag on the motor(a little more than what normal drag may be with the compressor running. AC blows Ice cold though, system has proper psi in it and everything. Is my clutch going bad?

Did you have the system evacuated, and a little oil added in? Being open that long it likely had moisture in it, and probably had a loss of oil from the leak I assume you had.
