i have a 2.4l twin cam quad four just got the transmission work done which cost me 2 grand and last night the engine started knocking but only when u give it gas when its idling no knocking what might it be??
It it a lower pitched or high pitched sounds, (knock, rattle, or tick) and how fast is the repitition.
The crankshaft to flywheel connection may be loose ....
This is many times what happens when re-installing a transmission. ...
Auto or manual? If an auto, loose torque converter bolts sound almost exactly like a rod knock. A pisspoor torque converter rebuild can sound that way too. Both happened to me when I had the trans rebuilt in my 83 Chevy truck. Took it back to them and made them replace the converter and use new bolts.
its like a ticking sound but only when u give it gas might it be cam bearings
i bet they took the flywheel off and had it resurfaced, and didnt torque the bolts correctly when they reinstalled it...
Flywheel bolts are very sensative to torque and torqued in the correct order
- 2004 Cavalier - 124k, owned since new
i had a new fidenza flywheel installed
still could be the same problem..
