when i take my foot off the break, the break lights stay on, and even when i turn the car off they still stay on..... disconected the battery, and reconnected it and they still are on.....i noticed the pedal is not aligned with the clutch, it sits like maybe half inch back...

anyone know the problem?!

Either your brake switch is sticking causing it to send teh signal to the brake lights or the pedal is pushing on the switch and not releasing. I would look at the switch and see if the pedal is not releasing off the switch when you take ur foot off the pedal.

^^Should be the other way around... it should push in the button with the brake pedal released, turning off the brake lights. Similar concept to the door pins for the dome light. If it was sticking, the lights wouldn't turn on when the pedal is depressed.

That could be it right there. Try putting your toe behind the brake pedal and pull it towards you. If it moves further towards the driver's seat, there's an issue with the pedal assembly.

The switch should be adjustable somewhat, not sure about 1/2" though.

the little holder that the switch turns into was fuked up, so it wasnt hitting the pedal, rigged something up till i can get to a dealer to get that part... works fine now tho
