trying to help my uncle swap out a blown 95 2.2 he found a 96 2.2 with low kms but the wreckers are saying they aren't interchangeable.

i know the EGR has to be swapped but what else has to be swapped to put it right in they look the same but apparently theres something different about the 96-97, they say 94-95 go together but 96-97 go together

any info and websites would be great

They are exactly the same motors, he's saying they won't interchange because his parts system says they won't (differences in OBD from 95 to 96). They will swap right out and interchange.
