Okay guys this one is completely on me. I'll tell you the story...
I was installing my new TTR upper engine mount in my '03 eco cav and everything was going fine, in fact it was quite easy except for the engine shifting, lousy son of a b&^*%. lol Anyway, i get everthing lined up and i'm starting to tighten the bolts down. The ones going into the block we're cool but I forgot the manual and the instructions, so therefore i don't know the torque specs.
Now, I have read numerous posts on here on the installation and i kept seeing "tighten the crap out of the bolts", so you guessed it i set the torque wrench on 90 lb/ft thought it was about right and the engine bolts get torqued. Move on to the studs in the bracket and yup snap! I get cocky like that sometimes because as long as i have been a mechanic in the army, i have often had to do without the book. I've never had a thing come back either though.
I'm thinking just drill the stud out and replace with a locknut/bolt
So here's my question, does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this more "properly"? I know the bracket the studs are in is welded to the body, and i don't have access to that equipment. Any tips?
ya about your only option man, never had any trouble with those but ive had bad luck with the bolts going into the block getting stripped.

So you are saying you over torqued the nuts that go on the stud to the frame broke ( the stud broke?)
I think that stud is on the top side of a "tube" so it maybe VERY hard to get a nut/bolt in there...
Anyone else have any thoughts, or have had this happen?

Try contacting the GA owner on the following link, he had to bolt the TTR mount down on the frame side, maybe it will work for you:

If you broke the stud then the best bet would be to drill out the stud like you said then insert a helicoil with the correct inner treads of the original stud that you broke. Helicoil’s are strong as anything and are used on these kind of problems.
Good luck.

So you're saying drill out the stud that sticks up and insert a heli-coil then pop a bolt in? I have used these, alot by the way and i didn't know if you could place it inside a stud. I thought you only used them for stripped out bolt holes.
I don't know the eco cav setup for the upper mount. Mines different for a 99 cav.
If it’s just a treaded stud into the bracket then yes you can use a heilcoil. If part of the stud still sticks up you might be able to remove it without drilling. Usually you drill if the stud is broke off flush. You should be able to get the OEM stud from GM, from that you should be able to buy a helicoil kit which would contain the correct size drill bit for the tap for the helicoil and the correct size helicoil to match the tread size on the stud. Start with GM and see if you can buy just the stud for the upper engine mount. If you can’t and you know the tread size you might be able to get the correct size stud from the same place where you buy the helicoil kit.
Okay I see what you are saying, I will try that. Thanks for all the help knic.
