Check the Fuel pressure Regulator..Could be leaking from there and driping onto the motor..It will not throw codes or show a puddle......

If it's leaking that bad, you could probably see it with a flashlight when the car is running. It is probably your injector seals and not the injector, the only way to tell for sure it to remove the injector though. Seals cost about a buck a piece and you have 2 per injector. Some cars like 2.4 also have back up rings for the seal going into the head, wich I could only get from GM when my seals the my # 2 injector fell apart. A complete seal and back up ring kit for 4 injectors is about $10. Although some dealerships only sell them for v-8's, wich maens you'll pay twice as much but at least you'll have spares.

my 2.4 smells like gas because it runs rich as hell. What is her gas mileage like? My cat is really clogged and so is one of the mufflers, or both. Crap fromthe cat broke off and is now rattling in the muffler, so with a clogged system the car will tend to run rich sometimes. Try and look at it like that and see if that my be your problem. The car does have a lot of miles on it. But if it just smells like straight up fuel, then listen to what everyone else is telling you.

O-rings, seals, same thing. If your sure the injector is leaking fuel into the engine bay, and the car is still drivable, it almost hase to be a bad seal/o-ring, theres really not any other place for the injectors to leak externally, unless the injector cracked/broke somehow, or if the fuel rail is way too loose somehow. Either way, it should still leak at or near one of the seals.
