Hi, I now have an 03 Sunfire GT. For some odd reason last week the 2 center air vents just stopped pumping air? There is a minimal bit of air, but nothing like the outer vents?
Anyone else have this issue? What could cause them to do this?
Thanks!
It happened to me. The mode valve under the dash just in front of the defrost vent ended up having a busted linkage. I repaired it and works good as new. I think the '03s and up have a different system of adjustment than mine did though, I believe yours is all cable operated. Theres a TSB on yours in fact.
Yes it happened to me too!!! The dealer ripped the dash apart and it was only a duct problem inside.
It was the center vents too.
To fix the problem they took the dash apart and the double black ducts in the center and installed a new "seal" under it. There was a leak.
I hope that this is the problem on yours because it's a quick fix.
Oh yeah I have a 2003 also.
If I remember right, its something about the foam on the flapper valve binding up in the pivots, they either replace the foam, or trim it down a little bit.
Yeah they installed a new foam part on mine when they did it!
The foam has come off the door and wedged in the duct. Easy fix. Weatherstrip adhesive to glue it back to the door. DONE!!
Had that issue last week in my 04 Sunfire.
I just beat on the top of the dash until they worked again...
After reading this.. I may choose to disassemble the dash and trim that foam.
Thanks for the responses guys.
I will take it apart and see if I can find that foam peice.
Jason : I will try your method as well
Thanks again!
