I need peoples help here and this is my problem,
I have a 97 Z24 with the 2.4L engine and a 5 spd.
for a couple weeks now my car has been sputtering and bogging out. After driving my car for a while and when it gets hot if I shut it off for a few minutes and then go to start it and get going again the car starts to bog out really bad and sometimes it stalls. I am most of the time able to get it past this after a minute or two. All you can smell is gas if I try to hit the gas to get it past the bogging. Sometimes it has done this even with my car cold, and I've noticed that my car has been running a little hotter than normal since the problem started. I have also had no check engine lights coming on but I know that the light works.
Things I have changed:
Fuel Filter
Air Filter
Coolant Temp Sensor
IDI cover with the ignition stuff underneath from the scrapyard from a 2000 (Coils, Module, and White Insulator), tried two different ones
MAP sensor from scrapyard
new hose for the MAP sensor
plugs about 5 months ago along with boots
o2 sensor just under a year ago
I also have a TPS and the IAC I believe they are from the scrapyard that I am yet to test out and also I have a new thermstat that I am going to change to see if that helps the car out from running hot.
Need any help or suggestions
Not sure what else to try cause this really sucks
Cat may be starting to plug up, which could make it run warmer than it should.
anybody have any advice to give
i have the same issue actually. I have a 97 Sunfire GT. I just rebuilt the entire motor. Almost all the sensors are brand new. The bogging only happens from a cold start.
kinda sounds like the problem i was having, just when i came from a cold start also. Dropped it off at the mechanics and he put new vacuum hoses on and oxygen sensor, and didnt help at all. Someone on here told to me to put some fuel injector cleaner in, so i did 2 nights ago, and havent had the probelm yet... I'm gonna be upset if it was just that simple of a problem, haha
