So the previous owner of my sunfire was a smoker who smoked in the vehicle.. I was wondering if there's any suggestions as to how to get rid of the smoke smell.... I've done a complete vacumming and i've pumped a full bottle of frebreez automotive... but that only masked the smell for a week 1/2... any other suggestions before i bust out the carpet cleaner??

Use the carpet cleaner. I had the same problem in my newly bought Sunfire. It took me a couple of go throughs to get the smell completely out.

sounds like that's what i'll have to do... I just did the passenger's seat and the water that came out was nasty to say the least... i think i'll save the backseat/drivers seat for the long weekend haha

Don't forget to do the headliner.

ya i cleaned off the inside part of the sunroof and it was really dirty.... will do with the headliner...

Also, no matter how bad the smell from ciggarette smoke is, even if you do nothing to get rid of it, eventually it goes away on its own. Just keep your windows open when you drive. Takes a while but I swear it'll go away.

yup my cav was smoked it...you tell by random burn spots but it does not smell like a smokers car
